St. John’s Diabetes and Metabolism Clinic Hosts First Adventure Club Outing!

Thanks to generous donors to St. John’s Health Foundation, the St. John’s Diabetes and Metabolism clinic held their first ever Adventure Club outing!

When young patients meet their diabetes management goals they are rewarded by being invited to participate in a fun group outing with their peers.

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, four adolescents spent time skiing and snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Mountain Sports School provided two instructors, one skier and one snowboarder.  The resort has a Team 1 composed of instructors who are educated about diabetes and the equipment used to manage it and who are comfortable instructing diabetics on the mountain.
