
Jim Little, Jr., MD

Dr. Jim Little, Jr. is a family medicine specialist and Chief of Staff at St. John’s Health.
Jim spent most of his childhood in Jackson, Wyoming. His father, Dr. Jim Little, Sr., was the first pediatrician in Jackson and still practices as a pediatrician here. He graduated from Jackson Hole High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in television and film production at Syracuse University. During college and afterward, he developed a passion for medicine while working as a professional and volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). After a brief stint working in TV news and film production, he followed his dream and went back to medical school. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he was president of his medical school class. He completed his residency training in family medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.
After practicing family medicine in the Portland area for seven years, Dr. Little, Jr., had the opportunity to return home to Jackson Hole in 2008. He is board certified in family medicine and is also a Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Little Jr. is an avid skier, volunteers as a firefighter with Jackson Fire/EMS, and flies as a search and rescue mission pilot with Civil Air Patrol.
Jim has served as a Director of St. John’s Health Foundation since 2021.
