Katie grew up in Boulder, MT with her parents and two sisters. She holds a B.A. in Health and Human Services from Montana State University. She always had a love for the outdoors and adventures and the day she graduated from MSU she moved to Big Sky, MT for “just one winter”. One winter became several. She married Spencer Long in 2005 and in 2007 an amazing job opportunity brought them to Jackson and they fell in love with the beautiful scenery and friendly people.
Katie and Spencer welcomed their daughter, Mavis in July 2015.
Katie’s passion is fly fishing and spending as much time on the river as she can with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Cheese. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Geppert Brothers Fly Fishing Foundation whose mission is teaching the young adults of Cambodia a marketable skill (fly tying) in order to help them fund programs to benefit their children’s education, environment, and economic situation. Katie also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Resource Center of Teton Valley whose mission is to improve lives by connecting those in need with a network of resources.
