Rachel Merrell joined St. John’s Health Foundation as Director of Stewardship and Special Events in 2015. She transitioned into the Director of Development role in 2017. Rachel has a background in hospitality, event planning, and fundraising. She enjoys working closely with donors, volunteers, and the community members who proudly support the foundation’s critical fundraising efforts. An adventuress, she chose Jackson Hole as her home in June 2009 and quickly grew to love the area.
Rachel grew up outside of Boston, spending time with her extended family on Cape Cod and traveling whenever possible. Rachel holds a B.A. in Psychology from Colgate University where she ran track and cross-country. Upon graduation, Rachel was eager to check out the Rocky Mountains. She spent six months in Golden, CO and then moved to Vail where she managed a small boutique hotel, appreciating the close access to Nordic and downhill skiing, trail running, and hiking. Rachel made the move to Jackson for its vibrant community and small-town feel. Rachel married Jackson native Greg Merrell in 2013, further cementing her roots in this special valley. Their daughter Josie was born here at St. John’s Health in August, 2017. They also have a pug named Lyla
